Cheritage adjusts to lockdown

Due to the Coronavirus outbreak, we had to postpone and adjust the activities planned for this spring. However, we keep working to promote our cultural heritage, especially in these days of forced isolation.

In recent months, the Coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) has created risks to the health and safety of citizens all over Europe, leading us to a reconsideration the strategies for implementing our ongoing Erasmus+ Project, A Visual Library of Cultural Heritage

As the new restrictions upended our lives, we are facing a truly unprecedented situation. Sadly, the last learning activity scheduled in Madeira in March had to be cancelled and discussions about how and when to rearrange it are underway. Online interactions among partners have become even more important and we try to use digital channels as much as possible.

For instance, on Tuesday, 12 May 2020, we organized a transnational online meeting with all the seven partners organizations. Together, the project representatives from Ireland, Italy, Portugal, Slovenia, Greece, the Czech Republic and Romania discussed the way forward and how to proceed in the aftermath of the pandemic. As you can imagine, it is not a simple decision to make, considering that the key component of the project is mobility across countries. However, we are confident we will find a way to bring our visual library to life, especially now that enjoying cultural heritage has become so challenging.
