Vâlcea County Library has started a replica of Cheritage in their local community. First step: research and documentation
“Uncover Vâlcea” is a new project launched by our local partner and project coordinator, Vâlcea County Library, based on the experience gained so far thanks to Cheritage and its learning activities.
“Uncover Vâlcea” aims to involve the participants in activities to promote the less known cultural heritage items of Vâlcea county and, at the same time, to get people familiar with the use of Augmented Reality technology.
The project runs between October 2019 and May 2020 and intends to transfer the knowledge, methods and practices experienced during the learning activities within the Cheritage project to the local community. Thus, participants from the local community will follow, step by step, the four phases of the project: 1. Research and documentation; 2. Development of digital platforms; 3. Photography for digital contents; 4. Augmented reality in education. Participants in the Cheritage project learning activities will become trainers for the people in the community and will help them to use the resources and information they have already accumulated during the international meetings.
The first step
Just as in Cheritage, the first learning activity focused on research and documentation, drawing from the workshops held in Czech Republic, in February 2018. 91 students and 6 teachers overall were involved in seven training sessions, held by the Cheritage trainees in Vâlcea County Library between 19 and 22 November. They could thus learn how to research and describe local cultural heritage in view of the second learning activity, due from 9 to 13 December 2019.
